Reetika Revathy Subramanian is a PhD scholar at the University of Cambridge, studying the impact of the climate crisis on labour, migration, and early marriage in South Asia. She is also the host of the Climate Brides podcast, a series that showcases conversations on climate change and forced marriages in various regions of South Asia. In this interview, we discussed the state of climate activism, how climate change threatens survival in a way that leads to increased rates of child marriage, and how governments must consider the nuanced societal forces that lead to early marriages as they craft interventions.
